Fish are biting if you can find warm water for 3/19/10
Coach Randy Gardner and team member Brady Barlow have been fishing this morning Friday March 19, 2010 and have put several fish in the boat. The secret to catching them has been ripping a rattle trap through weeds with the water temp at 55 degrees in two to four foot of water. The biggest fish caught so far was 2.5lbs which is pictured below.
Devon Gamboe reported catching some nice fish today with one coming in at about 5lbs. Coach Albrecht also caught several bass today ranging from 8 inches to 14 inches. Along with the bass he also caught northern and several nice walleyes on suspending crankbaits.
Later in the day Coach Gardner hooked up with Coach Prybil and Brady Barlow and fished another lake catching two bass that would go close to 4lbs each.

Fish are Biting.

One of many Smallmouth's fought so far this fall.
With the transition from Fall to Winter approaching, the fishing is only going to get better. The fish have started to feed heavily to gorge themselves for the Winter months. The majority of the fish that I am catching are all on baits that resemble a baitfish such as a Shad. Look for massive groups of these baitfish, such as shad balls, and that is where you should find a majority of your feeding fish. Lately I have been spotting smallmouths feeding on shad at the top of the water column, therefore I like to throw a topwater walking bait or Popper. The fish seem to key in on noise and splashes if they are on the hunt for food and will willingly except your bait as a meal. If anyone is wanting to go fishing, feel free to get ahold of me and we can figure some plans out. My best advice is get out on the water as much as possible and enjoy ‘em while you can before the water ices over. Good Luck to all.
