Bassmaster Champion Mike Iaconelli

Elite angler Mike Iaconelli will be helping coach team members through out the season.  Illinois is the only state in the US that has competitive bass fishing offered as a program for high school students.  Last year over 2,2450 students participated through out the state from 199 schools.  This year the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) expects to have over 225 schools to join in.  Mike’s love for fishing extends far past just fishing tournaments.  He also loves to help guide and teach others in the sport that he as become one of the best in.   Mike was able to meet with members from the maroons fishing team this past January, and from there he could see the need to help share his vast knowledge with the future of the sport.  With today’s technology using video and Internet Mike will be in contact with Moline team members  through out the year to help provide advice and answer questions.

This is a first in the sport of bass fishing were a professional has stepped up to help coach and develop younger anglers.
