About

Thank you for taking time to learn more about our team.  This is the start of our fifth year of our high school team.  The team is looking forward to another fun year of fishing. Last year we won our sectional again and sent one boat the state tournament.   This year we have a young squad of student anglers that are working very hard at becoming competitive bass fishermen and fisher-ladies   The team has been blessed to have continued support form many local businesses, clubs and individuals.  Without this support the team would not be able to continue.  We are very excited for this upcoming year and our looking forward to the future.

Last year was another successful year for our team.  We were able to recapture our sectional title and send two teams to the IHSA State tournament for a 3rd straight year.  At State we placed one boat in the top 10 (9th place) and the other boat was 28th place.  More importantly we have had three years of turn over on our team and our goal has been to have a successful program that keeps producing quality high school anglers.  Looking at this year we have 3 anglers returning that have been to State.  We have several new anglers who have shown the desire and drive to become better everyday they get on the water.   Our team members have worked hard at fundraising this year to allow opportunities for future events. We appreciate all the people who have stepped up to help make our program a success.

It’s hard to believe but as we enter the third year our team has grown by leaps and bounds.  Last years 2nd place state finish was a great team effort by all of our members and volunteer coaches.  Our program has three returning members, that have state tournament experience.   We don’t judge our success by how we place at sectionals or qualifying for state.  The program looks at the growth of each individual person as a measure of success!  Over the last two years we have developed a program that is allowing novice high school anglers to become competitive in both school and non-school related tournaments.

Our team is looking forward to a fun, exciting , and challenging season.   We would like to again thank the many sponsors and people who keep offering their time and support.   To those of you who want to start a team or have questions, feel free to contact one of the coaches below.  We would be happy to help point you in the right direction to get your program started.

We survived the first official year and had a great year.   Our program is one of the largest in the state in terms of allowing students access to learn the sport of  bass fishing, allow access to bass fishing, and be part of  a team of 25+ members.  The support we have received from local business and individuals has been a key part in keeping the team functioning.   We achieved our goals for last year and have worked towards expanding our goals for the 2010 season.

Welcome to Moline High School’s bass fishing teams homepage. We are very excited that the IHSA has sanctioned bass fishing as a high school sport for the 2008-2009 school year. Moline’s goal for this year was to put together a team that not only can compete at the IHSA state events but also compete through out the year at a variety interschool tournaments among our students. Our team has about 25 students that have joined since Fall 08.  The sport of bass fishing has become so popular that many colleges have competitive bass fishing teams.  Our team at Moline is work in progress and changes will come as we move forward with the program. If you would like to help out please contact the head coaches below.
